Preamble
Yoga is an integral part of human life as well as important for human resource development. It’s also an effective way to channelize the energy of youth for productive and meaningful purpose. Hence YPL has given high priority to promote yoga as a competitive sport within the country and in the world, with an aim to bring awareness about yoga, its benefits and spiritual background in young community. Over the years, a need has been felt to formulate a concrete yoga sports policy, so that the measures needed to be taken for promotion of Yogasana sports can be explained. YPL strongly feels that Yoga sports should be an essential element in the HRD strategy and for that purpose, YPL proposes to use Yogasana sports as a tool to transform youth into a confident, organized and capable workforce, which can bring social change and economic well-being of yoga players.
Creating a rating system for yoga sports, similar to the belt system in martial arts. A set of criteria devised by Yogasana Premier League (YPL) experts by which each yoga player can judge themselves as to where they stand. Which is equivalent to a black belt in yoga sports. It will be like cricket rating or ELO score in chess.
It is very important for the yoga lover/fan/viewer that they are able to judge why high scorers are better than any other
To give its rightful place to Yogasana as the world’s most widely participated sport. Creating a professional league that showcases the best exponents not only in the country but also in the world generates strong audiences and memories and is financially beneficial to both Yogasana players and Yogasana Premier League team owners.
